day 1: after a ride in the pouring rain, i arrived at work at 5:30am. this is not normal for someone used to showing up at work at 9 or 10am. this started a new quest -- to beat Gombar to work every day. The Impossible Gombar is a mechanical engineer at our company who is always the first one in the door -- always before 7am.
according to him, "people have tried" to beat him to work every day. i assume that meant they failed after a day or two. i am going to beat the record. to do this, i'll have to arrive at work and be changed into work clothes by 6:45am.
day 2: little more dry, arrived at work around 6:35, still before the impossible Gombar. things are going well.
day 3 (today): got to sleep after midnight last night, and really wasnt ready to get up when i woke at 5am. slept until 6am then realized i had a choice:
1. bike to work.
2. continue to beat Gombar to work.
since ive done the bike thing for a year straight already, my car is now outside in the parking lot -- and, at 7:05am, Gombar asks "no bike today"... sure, but hey i made my choice, and day 3 against him feels alot better.
